OneLife Tutoring provides free one to one tutoring to low-income children in the Wedgwood/Lake City community of Seattle.
OneLife Tutoring is a FREE service to the community.
OneLife Tutoring is a program that works in cooperation with the Seattle Public Schools to provide top quality tutoring for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Our team of volunteers are able to assist in all school subjects and even has a computer lab. In addition to assisting in the areas of education we desire to make a place that fosters healthy relationships and a sense of community. As a result, we also provide a free meal and free transportation for all as well as planned events like Christmas, and Thanksgiving parties for the whole family.
For the past 14 years we have been serving K-5th grade students referred to us by the local Seattle Public Schools for help in targeted areas such as reading, math, and writing. We contact teachers for specific information on how to help the student during the year and report on their progress to the parent and the teacher. All of our tutors must pass a Washington State Patrol background check, will be interviewed, & must go through our volunteer training, before being assigned a student.
We are always looking for new volunteer tutors as we have a waiting list of students looking to plug in. The time commitment for online tutors is only 2 hours a week & can be done at a time that works with your schedule.
